First, you familiarize yourself with the study by reading the consent form and speaking to one of the research coordinators about your questions. You may also speak to the doctor or pharmacist about any questions you have. You will be asked to sign the informed consent form and a copy of the form will be given to you.
You may then be scheduled for a screening visit to determine if you meet criteria for the study. This could be on the same day or a date in the future. This will most likely require a physical examination and lab work, and perhaps other testing. If your results meet criteria for the study you will then be considered an “active” study subject.
